 "Great game!" 2008-03-10
By varsha patel (UK)
I really enjoyed this game. Despite the bad reviews, it is very fun and great for kids and their friends. Tamagotchi fans like me love it, but lots of people who have no idea about Tamagotchi think it's great too. All my friends and loads of kids also like it. This is a must-have for Wii gamers and Tama-fans. The multiplayer is a little slow, but if you are patient, these cute graphics get the better of you.

 "Just plain boring..." 2007-11-06
By Z. Boult
I loved the Tamagotchi Corner Shop games for the DS, so I thought I'd quite like this game too...how wrong I was!

The basis for the game is basically Mario Party, but the game play is so shallow and the controls are not very responsive. Watching the other characters take their turn is an addition this game could do without aswell! I know this game is on the Wii whose motto is 'gameplay over graphics', but this game has neither. I played it once, and could not be bothered to waste my time giving it a second chance. This game could have been so much better. If only Amazon let you give things 0 stars.

Just buy Mario Party instead!

 "huge disappointment" 2007-08-31
By Figitchi (Ireland)
My son loves the tamagotchi games on the ds, where you work in different shops, so I bought the wii game without reading any reviews. BIG MISTAKE! It is awful. It's a board game along the lines of Marioparty, but ten times slower and more boring. The few minigames (if you ever land on them), are simplistic and...boring. The game hardly makes use of the wii pointer, you're just pressing buttons. It's terrible - mine is up for sale three hours after purchase!!! If only they had repeated the DS versions, this could have been so much fun.

"If you Like Calm Music and Chess, This is Your Game " 2008-07-05
By Anonymous (UK)
Wii Chess is a game which lets you play chess up to 10 different levels.

Effortless 1 to almost impossible 10.

This fantastic game also lets you connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi which enables you to play with other people online.

You can find a matched opponent which takes long or anyone which sometimes take long.

Not many people are ever online, you do get the odd 1 or 2 but this is more of playing the computer game and of course you can also play 2 player against each other.

There is also a nice way of choosing Black or White in this game.

Against the computer you can choose random to do this and a pawn will come up onto your screen and flash black and white really fast and then it stops, you might have to press A.

For 2 players I haven't tried but this is probably random to make it fair.

When you are playing a match there is also calm music playing in the background but on the Wii Chess menu there is nice lively music.

Overall this is a fun game for all ages but I recommend you have an adult with you to help you play chess; you can't go wrong with the coloured squares which determine where you can go.

I would recommend buying this game.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review.

10/10.

"Wii Chess: A Fair Review" 2008-02-04
By Edward (England)
The Wii series is home to some of the best value for money games on the Wii. Wii Sports: An excellant package, fun for the whole family, comes bundled free with the console. Wii Play: A nice little bundle of shallow but fun games, and that's essentially a £5.00 game when you add the Wii Remote to it, so great value for money. Now there's a new kid on the block: Wii Chess. For hardcore chess fans who own a Wii this is a must, with fun On-and Offline multiplayer, and a variety of difficulty levels ranging from easy (1) to nearly impossible (10) so it is fun for those of all difficulty levels. It uses an extremely intelligent chess modem, something to give chess experts a run for their money. The only minor gripes are the lack of any motion sensitivity control, as it is played using the buttons on the Wiimote or the Classic Controller, and there is little to entice non-chess fans. (I mean, my brother loves chess but he still isn't prepared for the really difficult levels yet). And all this for just £16.98, another good value for money game. No, its not Super Mario Galaxy or Twilight Princess, but nevertheless a nice casual, Saturday afternoon game. Wii are having fun at my house now!

This is something everyone can join in with. Instead of the kids becoming lost in a computer game, this is a game that gets everyone involved and means you have to use your brain to play it. Excellent value for money. Would recommend it for all families for a good laugh.

"Stick to the Board Game" 2009-04-19
By Trudgeley (England)
I bought this because I am a fan of the board game and owning a wii, I thought this would be a good combination, as youngsters can play it too. However I am very disappointed because it is temperamental, ie, sometimes the wii remote works ok with this game, sometimes it doesn't (only with certain tasks). I will be sticking with the board game which is much more fun as far as I am concerned. I wish I hadn't wasted my money as I've only played this twice and have no interest in ever playing it again, I'm afraid....

I recently purchased this game for by daughter's 12th birthday and I have to say that the whole family love it! I agree that the Cameo games are frustrating but this is one game out of around 20, the drawing, logic, memory and word games are all great.

Overall, a great fun game for the whole family!

"Not bad for a tenner" 2008-06-13
By Mr. M. Hopewell (Birmingham, UK)
It will not take long for this game to annoy you.... Some of the answers to the puzzles are meant to only be read using the supplied special graphics but some people can read the answer without them.

A few of the tasks are just impossible to get right and it tends to be more luck than judgement.

That said the other 70% of the game is ok. It is an excellent family game and you can easily play with lots of people. Played it recently with around 10 people at a family gathering and was still enjoyable if slightly flawed.

"Actually Quite A Good Game!" 2008-04-12
By Ms. A. C. Loveridge (Kent)
When I recieved this as a present I thought this game would be no good at all but I was proven wrong. This multiplayer game spilts you into teams and you have many little games to play. You have to get them correct in order to recieve points. The creative parts are my favourite where you are given a place or type of food to draw and you have to draw it using the wii remote for your team to guess, (they do not know the word as it is in code and you have to look through 3d glasses to see what it is). Overall I think it is a really good game and so what if you can only play with one wii remote? You can give the other team an evil look as you pass it to them. :-)

Also if amazon is selling it for under £10, grab it!

This game has excellent graphics, and brilliant and easy control abilities, the only slight let down is the characters don't talk out loud and there is a limited no of cards you can have, but overall the story modes and grand prix modes are brilliant, and the usal YTCG (Yugioh Trading Card Game) rules are applied, and the characters are just like they are in the anime series.

Traditional scrabble and loads of variations. Poker scrabble, wii fit scrabble etc. Computer opponents offer a good challenge and there are cooperative games where 2-4 players can work together on scrabble missions. Superb value and the game tells you what the weird words mean! Recommended for family fun. My wife loves the game and is completely hooked. Don't know what else a wii version of a board game could do.

Was very much looking forward to recieving this game but was a little dissapointed. The questions appear at the top of the screen and are too small, not easy to read. The contrasting colours used don't help. Fuffs about with the moving of the counter across the board, which is unnecessary.

    By N Rossmore (Ireland)
The typeface for the questions when they are on screen are WAY too small you can't view them unless you are on top of the TV screen. Questions seem to be much easier than the board game version, more like children's edition than genius edition or more like pop-culture quiz than what you would expect of Trival Pursuit Genius. Exceptionally annoying voiceover - better played mute. Overall a disappointment - the board game version is infinitely better. I could not recommend this to be purchased.
